Born in Muharraq in 1954, BuSaad demonstrated his prodigious talent at a young age on the walls of local houses as well as in the classroom. He later received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Baghdad, Iraq, where he studied under the critical eye of the celebrated artist, Faiq Hassan, who was a member of the country’s Pioneers (“Al Ruwad”) movement. Hassan’s repertoire of styles spanned impressionism and abstraction, as well as Cubism and the impact of his work on that of BuSaad’s is indisputable.
