Albareh Art Gallery presents “Al Sabiya; Enlightens your Night, Iraq” a solo and retrospective exhibition by renowned Saudi Artist Mounirah Mosly. From the 9th of February until the 27th of February at AlBareh Art gallery. The solo exhibition will be at Albareh Art Gallery and the Retrospective at Albareh Café.
Throughout her career path mosly chose to express and show the suffering of the people in the Arab world, a true patriot, a true human filled with emotions and feelings. Her artworks reflect human sufferings of the people of this region from Lebanon to Palestine and now Iraq, one of the oldest civilizations in the world, with its history of great achievements and contributions to humanity in terms of the arts, philosophy, religion, science, and literature.
Mosly intends to convey a message about the situation and the condition that Iraq has reached after the war, and the suffering and killings of many people and especially the children. Abeer Al Janabi, one of the victims of this unjustified war, is a girl that was only 14 years old when she was raped and murdered on the hands of the occupation in 2006. The tragedy of "Al Sabiya" as Mosly likes to call her, has affected her tremendously and as a result she has decided to dedicate this show to her and to all the children that were also victims of the war.
In this exhibition Mounirah Mosly paints, carves, weaves and draws with full passion and with vibrant colors, to display her massage and to show the world what took place, but at the same time and in her own way she wants to convey a message of hope and promise of a brighter future.
