A WINDOW ON CONTEMPORARY JORDANIAN ART

A Window on Contemporary Art, a group show that will feature the creative output of 11 Jordanian artists from three different generations.

With 49 works spanning from the 1970s to the present day, the exhibition is a survey of contemporary Jordanian art. It brings together 11 of Jordan's finest established and emerging artists, including such artistic goliaths as Muhanna Durra, Ahmad Nawwash, Fuaad Mimi, Fares Rizk, and Hind Nasser, along with exceptional the talent of Hani Alqam, Nissa Raad, Ufemia Rizk, Nadia Abu Eita, Omar Najjar, and Ibrahim Jawabreh.

Paintings in oil, acrylic and mixed media, along with drawings and multiple editions reflect the richness and diversity of Jordanian contemporary artistic production, and underscore the fact that, '… since 1948, the Jordanian art scene has [been] intertwined with contemporary Palestinian art, due to the geopolitical circumstances of both countries' (Dr. Khalid Khreis).
