Mariam Jumaan is an Engineer by profession, and a self- trained artist. Mariam believes that her engineering background supports her art journey. Engineers find different solutions to the same problem, and it is this multifaceted view of the world that Mariam tries to bring to her art. Using different media and forms, she tries to present any single idea in a multitude of ways.

Since Mariam started her art journey, she has been trying out a variety of media including acrylic on canvas, printmaking, collage, mono printing, and silkscreen. Her recent work has focused on collage as a means of reusing old and vintage paper and ephemera and bringing it back to life as an artwork that can be enjoyed for years to come.

She was a participating artist in the first Lines of Light Exhibition in November 2019, and the second Lines of Light Exhibition in December 2021. She has also participated in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.
