‘If stone could speak, it would tell the tale of the chisel and how it shapes history, how it restores the gentle smile inspired by the memory of a Parisian night in the winter of 2000, of the hand that carved the Book of Love, a love that we came to know in the neighbourhood of Montmartre.  It was a time when letters were the guardians of the evening and reeds were the masters of the moon.  It was a time when the River Seine drove us to the pinnacle of madness. We debated the poetry of Al Mutanabi and demonstrated it the dreams of Gaston Bachelard leaving it out to dry on the washing lines of Picasso’s house in the alleyways of the Latin Quarter.

If stone could speak, it would tell of Abdel Elah Al Arab, the calligrapher to whose letters surrender; of Jamal Abdul Rahim as he creates the biography of books in the presence of their lover, and of another declaring his love for both of them.’   -        Fareed Ramadhan
