The subject of the current exhibition is the high-heel shoes, which is simply and comically entitled “Shoe”, a double entendre in Arabic meaning “what do you want?”; a question that we use many times, and so the link appears clearly since both are being used in daily life. Safaa often incorporates metal in her art works. The artist has opted for this material again as herpreferred choice for her new concept “Shoes”. With this particular concept, Safaa challenges the common perception of metal from being spiritless, and hard to handle. Further still, she commands it into submission to its feminine side.
