Stare at the Other Side

Across the walls of the gallery and the cafe?, we have chosen to represent some of the most appreciated artists from Bahrain as well as confirmed artists from the rest of the region. The artworks in the display show what really moves these artists in this world, depicting their vision of art, their sense of what comes to painting and representations. We’ve selected artists that are at different stages of life and with different social backgrounds: Faika Al Hassan (Bahrain); Haela Al Waari (Palestine); Jehan Saleh (Egypt); Lobna Al Amin (Bahrain); Karima Taha (Egypt); Laila Beydoun Chalabi (Lebanon); Nabila Al Khayer (Bahrain); Shadi Ghadirian (Iran); Shereen Audi (Jordan); Stephanie Devico (Morocco); Zena Assi (Lebanon). In their paintings, we can identify subjects or matters related to each one society, but which are shown from a feminine perspective that is based on the diversity of human subjectivity.
